As a global solution, reducing the amount of illegal immigrants in the world are the first priority. Most of the immigrants who are working in sweatshops are in a bad position. They cannot be officially ask for punishment to the government, and that creates a bad cycle of hard labor and extremely low wages.
This originates from the free trade led by the US, prioritizing profit rather than workers. Due to the big debts that 3rd countries (also known as developing countries) owe to the International monetary fund (IMF), they have to make a rapid economic growth. This leads to weak economic and social policies and weakened awareness on famous companies.
To prevent it, strengthening the border laws will help. It will strongly secure the illegal migrants, which eventually will lead to less suffering workers. Also, for local workers, reorganizing the social and economical standards that the comapnies have to follow, for example, higher minimum wages. fixed work time, and so on. These simple standards will protect the workers from unfair treatments, in other words, exploitation of the rich.
